Favorite Taiwanese Actor and Actresses

Taiwanese Actors/Actresses I Love
I got the inspiration from other people doing this, so I thought it would be fun to do this.

Actors

Jiro Wang

I can't explain how much I love this guy. If you say you like Taiwanese dramas and you don't know him, you are lying. Some background info about him is that he is part of a 4-member boy band called Fahrenheit. They were really popular, but now one of the members left and the other three focus more on their solo work and acting. Every member of the group is represented by a degree. Jiro is 95 degrees, which is the hottest in the group. He deserves it, AT TIMES. He has chiseled abs and looks really cool in many of their music videos, but he has a sweet smile and has played numerous funny characters, so his degree fluctuates for me. He has starred in the highly popular series, the KO Series. He was the male lead in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th drama of the series. He is also noted for playing the cute and funny 2nd male lead in It Started With a Kiss and its sequel, They Kissed Again. In both series, he was always funny and had exaggerated expressions.
Dramas: KO Series, It Started With a Kiss series, Hana Kimi, Momo Love, Absolute Darling, Fabulous Boys, Drama Go Go, Rolling Love, and ToGetHer.

Aaron Yan

Another one of the Fahrenheit members. If you can't already tell, I love this band. He is the youngest member of the group. He is the coldest in the group or 41 degrees, so he is supposedly almost as cold as ice. He actually has a cute smile and I love him as well. He usually doesn't play the funny roles, unlike Jiro. He also took part in the KO Series along with his other members. He was one of the main leads in the 1st and 2nd drama in the series. Also been paired up with many actresses for best couple, like Gui Gui, Puff Guo, and lately Vivian Hsu. Many people like his new dramas Just You and Fall in Love With Me, but I wasn't that drawn into Fall in Love With Me. I'm planning on watching Just You. I recommend Pi Li MIT if you like mysteries. Love Buffet was a nice drama as well, which he acted alongside his other member, Calvin Chen.
Dramas: KO Series, Love Buffet, Pi Li MIT, Gloomy Salad Days, Alice in Wonder City, Just You, Fall in Love With Me.

Liu Yi Hao (Max/Jasper Liu)

He is a cutie pie. With a cute smile and is full of sunshine, doesn't he look like he is a Korean Go Mi Nam, or flower boy? Can you believe that he is 28 in 2014? He certainly isn't as well known as Jiro and Aaron YET, but already has many fans and modeling deals under his belt. He was first famous for being Mei Nan in In Time With You, which is a complex, mature drama about love and friendship. For the role of Mei Nan, which literally means pretty boy, he permed his hair until it had short curls, which he became him signature hairstyle until his newest production. Because he has those cute curls, he gained the nickname of the Village Chief of Broccoli Village. He has cute dimples and a nice eye smile, so he is called the Taiwanese Rain. I personally love all of his roles. I look forward to his villain roles if he ever gets to be one. I recommend all the dramas listed below.
Dramas: In Time With You, Amour et Patisserie or The Patisserie With No Name, IUUI, Pleasantly Surprised, When I See You Again.

Chen Bo Zheng

Please don't judge a book by its cover. He starred in countless popular dramas. He is mostly a funny gramps but was also a dad, principal, housekeeper/butler, etc. He is one of the cast members of the KO Series. He acted as the gramps in X-Family or the 2nd drama of the series. He was my favorite character in the KO Series. I was always very scared that his back might break because he was always cramming into his room, disguised as a table. He is hilarious, but now he is very skinny for some reason. I hope that he will stay healthy. Hope for the best for him, for he is a beloved older actor in the Taiwanese showbiz.
Drama: KO Series, Hot Shot, Sweet Sweet Bodyguard, Fall in Love With Me, etc.

Wallace Huo

Wallace is Taiwanese, but lately, he has only been appearing in Chinese dramas. I like his Chinese dramas more, but I miss him in Taiwanese dramas. He used to play the cool guy who is kind sweet. Now he still plays these roles, but he is focusing so much on period dramas. He is an experienced actor and is very well respected in China. He has acted with many actresses like Tang Yan, Liu Shi Shi, Sun Li, Joe Chen, etc. I personally recommend Chinese Paladin 3, which is a period drama that includes weird powers, swords, and unique animals and beasts. He was a really great couple with Tang Yan and they had the best music to accompany their sweet moments. One drama about a female doctor that is also a period drama is gonna come out next year, so you should look forward to his work.
Dramas:
Taiwan: Westside Story, 100% Senorita, At Dolphin Bay, Spicy Teacher, Emerald on the Roof, Sounds of Color.
China: Chinese Paladin 3, The Swordsman, A Mobile Love Story, A Vigilantes Masks, Love at First Fight, Perfect Couple.

Sean Lee

I have to admit I like him less than the people I listed before. I went back and changed this after because I love him now. He is so bright and cute. I first saw him in K.O.3anguo, which is the 3rd drama in the KO Series. Out of the five main members, he seemed the most innocent. He was in the band Wu Hu Jiang, but they disbanded. I loved him in Dandelion Love. He also acted in When Love Walked In which has an idol studded cast. In Pleasantly Surprised, he played a character an arrogant but cute boss.
Dramas: When Love Walked In, K.O.3anguo, Pleasantly Surprised, Dandelion Love, Hayate the Combat Butler, etc.

Lee Wei

I almost didn't include him because he does this thing with his mouth and teeth when he is trying to act mean. Despite that, he is good at the "mean yet loves the girl" kind of character. He is the late Beatrice Hsu's ex-boyfriend. She was really popular in Taiwan in 2008, but then she died in a car accident at the age of 28. He is a great man and a great ex. He says happy birthday to her every year on social media. He is known to play a cool character in many dramas. Lately, he has been pretty active in China.
Dramas: Hi, My Sweetheart, Bull Fighting, MONGA Yao Hui, My Lucky Star, Return of the Heiress, The Concerto, Calling Love, etc.

Actresses

Ariel Lin

Ariel Lin is Taiwan's sweetie. No one can say they know about Taiwanese dramas without knowing her and Joe Chen. Her most famous role was Yuan Xiang Qing in It Started With a Kiss and its sequel They Kissed Again. She plays a ditsy, not so bright academically girl that falls in love with the smart, rich, and handsome Jiang Zhi Shu. Her bubbly character captured everyone's heart. She also acted in many popular wuxia dramas in Mainland China. In one of my favorite Taiwanese dramas, In Time With You, she played a realistic character that was confused about love because of the friendship involved. She showed great acting skills as a mature woman. She then starred in a Mainland Chinese drama, Lan Ling Wang, which is a period drama about the beautiful King of Wars. By the way. she is now married!!!
Drama: Lan Ling Wang, It Started With a Kiss, They Kissed Again, In Time With You, Love Contract, Tokyo Juliet, Love or Bread, The Little Fairy, The Legend of the Condor Heroes.

Ivy Chen

She is one of the most energetic and wacky actresses out there. She is crazy cute and I just can't get enough of her. I never understood why she is still not more famous than she is. She starred in Skip Beat alongside the two handsome Super Junior members, Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae. She was all over the place and very loud and exaggerated. She is known for her character in Black and White. Recently she was in the drama, Tiny Times. She also acted in a few movies, most notably L.O.V.E. and Hear Me. I highly recommend Hear Me, where she starred along Eddie Peng in a romance without sound. She has many movies coming up, so I look forward to her future work.
Dramas: Black and White, Meteor Butterfly Sword, Tiny Times, Skip Beat, I Want to Become a Hard Persimmon, Modern People.

Joe Chen

She isn't my favorite actress out there but she is funny and so successful so I had to put her here. Her two dramas, The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog and Fated to Love You, have the highest viewer ratings (with Fated to Love You being 1st) of all time. Her earlier roles were funny and a slight bit crazy. As time passed by, she started acting in Chinese dramas. Queen of SOP, especially, was successful. She gained more popularity for her role in The Swordsman as Dong Fang Bu Bai. My favorite role of hers was in My MVP Valentine, a drama about basketball. She played Barbie, a rich girl who is obsessed with feminine things and the color pink.
Dramas: In Love With a Rich Girl, The Swordsman, Queen of SOP, Fated to Love You, The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog, 100% Senorita, Easy Fortune Happy Life, My MVP Valentine, Ying Ye 3+1, Cruel Romance, Destined To Love You.
