First Episode Review/Summary of Angel 'N' Devil
WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS
The new drama, Angel 'N' Devil came out today! This drama is part of my favorite series, the KO Series. I might post about my opinions of the evolution of this series because I am certainly unhappy about it. For now, I will just do a review of Angel 'N' Devil.
The beginning started out with an ambiguous scene. A girl is talking to someone and then falls from a high place after being attacked with magical powers, called Yi Neng. Then the principal, which is also the beloved Duan Chang Ren, describes the fight between the evil and the good. You can see snippets of the earlier seasons. We see clips of sad girls who end up becoming the guardians of the good. Then there is the theme song. In the theme song, you see each character and what group they are from. This drama is basically advertising SpeXial and A'N'D. Sadly, none of the characters are from Fahrenheit, the boy group the original main cast belonged to. You can see new faces, but I miss the old cast so much. I recommend you guys watching KO One, X-Family, and KO3anguo. However, I must say the theme song is pretty catchy and upbeat. After the theme song, we end up in a classroom. The students are discussing how a group of girls caught a pervert. We also see a girl putting on makeup. Then there is a definition pause, which is when they pause to define terms used in the drama. Apparently, this group of girls are all really hot and have never been seen by anyone except the people they arrest. The girl who was putting on makeup tells the students that she is actually a member of the group and attempts to dance sexily around the classroom.
We cut to the next scene. Now we see a group of girls in bikinis. Weirdly enough, the girl that fell off the building is still alive here so the beginning scene is only foreshadowing. We also see a flasher checking the girls out. He knocks out the teacher and starts flashing the students. All the girls have run away except a girl named Xiao Mi, who freezes on the spot. The flasher attempts to touch her breasts when he is hit by Yi Neng and disappears.
We cut to the next scene. Now we are in a classroom and the lights suddenly turn off. The teacher is playing the guitar and attempts to sing a song. Some of the girls receive a secret message calling them to meet up. We meet this guy with orange curly hair and are informed of their mission. The girls, who are the group of girls who are the guardians of the good who I will call Devil's Group, have to save a guy that got kidnapped. He has the innate ability to gather demons. Then they HAVE to change their uniforms into sexy, pink outfits and they play the title song as background music. They go meet the girlfriend of the person that got kidnapped. After that, they change outfits again. I don't get this whole outfit change. The drama said it was to hide their identities, but they look the same to me but with makeup and occasionally one of them have a wig on. They find out that the girlfriend was involved in the kidnapping of her own boyfriend, but only because she didn't want the kidnappers to harm her father. They rescue him, yay. Xiao Yang, the girl who fell off the building in the beginning scene, runs back into the building. She dies, just like in the beginning scene.
The orange hair guy goes to Xiao Yang's house and sees a picture of a guy hugging her. I was disappointed because, in the beginning, Xiao Yang touched Xiao Xiong, which is the orange curly haired guy, in a romantic way. I thought they were a couple, but no. Next, we meet a girl that was part of the original cast, since X-Family time! Devil's group fights the girl. They are all weaker than her. Then one of the members of Devil's Group kisses Xiao Xiong and turns invisible?! What is this? Hogwarts? Invisible girl captures her. Devil's Group learns that her Yi Neng is the same as Xiao Yang's. She is Xiao Yang's adoptive older sister and she saw the man that killed their adoptive parents.
Next, we see a preview of the next episode. Xiao Xiong asks the older sister to join the Devil's Group. Then the Devil's Group fights the murderer. The older sister says she will help Xiao Yang protect the person she wants to protect, which I assume is the guy hugging Xiao Yang. We finally see his face. He's kinda cute. The lover and the sister fight. Pets Tseng, the actress in KO3anGuo, appears!!!
From what I saw from the ending song, Xiao Yang's lover and the older sister might end up together.

I am honestly so confused. Maybe because it is the first episode but This drama tried was explained. We see lots of snippets of things happening but they do not explain them at all. We do not know how Devil's Group was formed. We do not know much about the evil powers. We do not learn much about the Devil's Group's powers. Honestly, I am not sure where this drama is headed. There are just so many unknows. Also, this drama tries to maintain the original humor but it doesn't seem to be working.
