Comment:
One of the best Japanese dramas I have ever watched. It has been a while since I have been as hooked on a Japanese drama as this. This drama is a family drama with a cute romance. Kahoko's family is a mess. Problems occur left and right and Kahoko attempts to help resolve these issues to protect her family. This drama really teaches you that heard work and determination counts. I admire Kahoko's positive attitude and determination. This is honestly a beautiful drama about growing up and finding ones direction and goals. It is also a beautiful family drama that teaches everyone that no matter how imperfect or scattered a family is, at the end of the day, it is still family.

Why I liked the drama:

Kahoko's cuteness

Kahoko is unbelievably cute. Despite being like a kid, you honestly cannot seem to hate her. She is just too adorable. After a while, whenever she says "this is the first time for me," it bugs me but other than that, she is the cutest little thing ever. She is a very petite person and looks very cute, but her smile will warm any heart.

Mugino Hajime

I would love him as a boyfriend. He is humorous and always provides great advice. He is mature and is always there when Kahoko needs him. He is really just like a normal guy. He does not have money nor is he super popular. He is just another hardworking student trying to pursue his passion. He is romantic at times, but that stems from his mature, manliness charms. He is not like a prince charming who always appears at the last moment to save the day in a dramatic way, but he is always there to give Kahoko advice and lend her a chest to cry on. I think the couple match each other really well. They both have qualities that the other is missing- Kahoko needs advice while Hajime needs encouragement. Their simple yet realistic relationship is very beautiful.

Papa

Papa is almost like an outsider at home. He is not respected by his wife, and it is almost like he does not exist half the time. He has no say at home and all of his decisions are based on Mama's decisions. We always talk about women not having any say at home but we never talk about the flip side. Throughout the entire drama I was rooting for Papa to say what is on his mind, but he always chickened out last minute. He also provides a bit of context about everyone in a funny way. He compares everyone, including himself, to an animal and discusses the many problems with his family in his head. He thinks Kahoko is a frog, he is a lion, and Mama is a meerkat.
