High Society Episode 1 Synopsis

So like the other episode 1 review I did on Angel and Devils, if I really like this drama, I might continue to write reviews about it.

I first became interested in this drama because Allkpop.com has a ton of cuts from this drama. I like Sung Joon, the guy on the right, from Shut Up Flower Boy Band. I also want to see Hyungsik and UEE, so here I am.

The drama starts out with a scene at a supermarket (I love it already). UEE is a part time worker at the supermarket and is giving out free samples until this ajumma started ordering her to remove the seeds of the fruit and to open up an expensive box of dragon fruit for her to try. They start to fight and best friend comes in and tries to help her; only to get cherries thrown into their faces.

UEE gets scolded by her boss. Then she is at a funeral and we can see that she has 3 siblings, is rich, and is hated by her family members.

We can now see Sung Joon and Hyungsik. They both work at the same company, with Hyungsik being the son of the owner. He is running a failing project, which is to have a grocery store for the wealthy. His brother and him have a bad relationship (what inheritance does to people). He decides to marry someone from the Taejin Group, or UEE's father's conglomerate. We can see Sung Joon jealous of Hyungsik being born into a rich family and his own desire to be rich. We also see his loving parents that he is embarrassed of because they are poor.

We now see her with her best friend who knows nothing of her background. She receives a phone call from "charity." Sung Joon is sent to the market by Hyungsik and the best friends falls head over heels for him. Hyungsik also orders him to do research on the girl she is going to have an arranged marriage with, or UEE.

We see the two older siblings of UEE talking about their position and the power they have. The sister is jealous of the son (who is real handsome). The sister says that he can never have the most power as long as if their father is still here.

We now seeing the mom and the other sister at a spa/massage/plastic surgeon place. The mom has plastic surgery.

We now see THE MISTRESS. War is on in the family. She looks like someone in her 40s but dresses like she's in her 20s and 30s. She calls the mom Hyungnim, for some reason, because that's supposed to be used for guys. THE MISTRESS tells the mom about the many mistresses the father has.

Moving on we see this horrible husband, the father, and how he keeps on complaining about how bad the food is and how the mother shouldn't mind his business about the mistresses. For once (you go mom), the mother actually stands up to this power hungry father and says she won't hold back if he continues to act like that. What makes me really mad is the fact that he threw all that good food on the ground. Now no one can eat it and someone has to clean that mess up (thanks father).

Bit of bromance and then it switches to UEE with a tank top and ripped jeans. Those filp flops though, really unique. She puts on lots of earrings and rings, and has dark makeup on. She is getting into character, or a deliquent, and rides the same elevator with Sung Joon. She doesn't notice him but he keeps on looking at her.

Hyungsik is really surprised to see her like this. He guesses her plan to not get married right away and threatens to do the opposite, for he hates being used. In the end he agrees to say he won't marry her in exchange for splashing water on her and telling her mom that she has a boyfriend.

We see Sung Joon breaking up with a semi-rich girl and she says that shes the best girl he can find with his family background (burn).

UEE cries and bumps into people and stuff spills out. Sung Joon picks up her hair pin that she ACCIDENTALLY missed (typical).

We learn that the mother is actually is the maid of THE MISTRESS. THE MISTRESS is actually a lonely person that gets rid of her boredom by shopping and dealing with other women who try to seduce the father.

Hyungsik's mother tells the rest of the nosy mothers (including UEE's mother, who isn't supposed to know that she messes the arranged marriage up on purpose) that she has a boyfriend. Trouble is coming.

BROMANCE time! Hyungsik and Sung Joon and racing on their bikes. It was all good until Hyungsik called him a subordinate but quickly changed the word to friend.

We see best friend still laughing like a fangirl as she thinks about Sung Joon and the time he helped her translate English. She makes this song and announces that she likes him.

The mother is in a tough situation as the husband stops all her funds and stops helping her brother's company.

The mom starts, once again, blaming UEE for the problems that occur and UEE tells her that she will get married however she wants. She calls her bestie and she cheers her up. The son and the mother have a pep talk.

The best friend ends up following Sung Joon and he starts to feel weird. UEE spots her bestie following Sung Joon. She runs up to the bestie and tells her she bought her favorite food, chicken feet and soju. The bestie quickly denies that she like it and introduces UEE to Sung Joon. UEE thinks it is weird that he was "scanning" her up and down and asks if he knows her.

Sung Joon is all like, they say "it is fate if you coincidentally meet someone three time. I don't believe in fate. I only choose."

Thank god, there is a preview.
The two males leads seem to be interested in the bestie!

This is a bit boring so I'm not going to do an ep. 2 synopsis.
