Black and White

I really wanted to write about this amazing drama called Black and White, which is a 2009 Taiwanese drama. 

Main Cast:

Vic Zhou as Chen Zai Tian, or Ruffian: He has a mysterious past that even he doesn't have all the details about. He is a player but is known to be the Case-Cracking King of the Northern District Police Station. The truth behind this title is that he gets information from an unknown sender from a fax machine at a coffee shop.

Mark Chao as Wu Ying Xiong or Wu Hero: He is a righteous police officer who will sacrifice everything to crack a case. He is the Southern District Police Station's Case-Cracking King. 

Ivy Chen as Chen Lin: Her dad is the leader of the biggest, most powerful gang around, San Lien. Unlike her pretty and cute visuals, she is skilled in self-defense and is hard to boss around. However, she does have a kind heart. 

Janine Chang as Lan Xi Ying: She is a forensic scientist. She is also Hero's good friend and Ruffian always tries to hit on her and suspects Hero and her to be a couple. 

Synopsis: 

After learning that the girl he had a one night stand with was the daughter of his boss, the Director of the Northern District, he quickly leaves for the Southern District to escape being killed by the Director. He is the Case-Cracking King of the North District so he gets paired up with the Case-Cracking King of the South District. They both act and believe in totally different things. At first, Hero tries to make him resign, but after working with him, Hero starts to treat Ruffian as a good friend. Together, he tries to help Ruffian with his past and solve some of the most dangerous and complicated cases. Along the way, they also keep on crossing roads with the triad boss' daughter who later becomes their good friend. This drama is an exciting drama filled with suspicion, trust, mysterious pasts, and secret organizations. Your eyes will be glued to the screen trying to guess who the good and bad guys are. 

Comments:

This drama has complex characters and great actors that portray them.
I love the themes explored through this great production. It shows us that there isn't just black and white but also grey. You can't always expect to have justice just because you are innocent.

Also, this drama always has a secret spy. It is pretty fun guessing who the spy is.
